I would prefer to travel by sea because 11+ hours on a plane in the cargo hold dosn’t sound much fun for a dog. Does any one know of any cargo carriers that would take us as passengers?

Recommend that you leave your dog in the UK…Pets have a tendency to disappear if they are left outside, especially in rural areas…And a lot of dogs run free throughout the country.

If you decide to take your dog anyway, make sure you check the Thai customs rules for bring pets into the country…I do know that there will be a quarantine period.

Thailand is a great place and there is a grand water festival coming up in Mar or Apr – to celebrate the coming rainy season…And never, ever disrespect the king or queen…Besides, both are superb monarchs.

    All the best

If 11+ hours on a plane doesn’t sound like much fun, what is your poor dog going to think of four to six weeks on a rolling heaving freight carrier with no grass to walk on, only hot metal decks, slippery companionways, a stifling cabin, the incessant noise and vibration of the engines, and the continuous tropical sun?
The Captain would probably insist you keep the dog in your cabin whilst at sea, and that you are responsible for cleaning up its sick and mess. I would forget the idea if I were you.

I’d try a reverse lobotomy as a matter of urgency.
